Greetings, all. I am a total n00b, been on a wind-board (is that what you call'em?) once in my life on the Gulf Coast in the late 80's. We spend a week in Jacksonville (Ponte Verda, to be exact) every summer basically veg-ing; this year I'd like to get off the couch and do something, so I thought, "Windsurfing!" So, I have questions:

Can this be done in the Atlantic in July?
Where can one rent equipment reasonably?
Do I need lessons, and how much are they?
Am I an idiot?

Thanks!!

I would contact a shop in Jacksonville (get their number/email by Googling), and ask them about rentals and lessons. July is fine, if there is any wind. Waves would be challenging since you have little experience. I would stay in protected water. The local shop should tell a good place where to sail. Good luck.
