Don't be distraught. Get a 6.3 with a 9.0 slalom board and see if you can find Bahia Honda around mile marker 40 in The Florida Keys. Great people there. Dave's usually got a cold beer.

Dave and Patty have sold their house in the Keys and are looking for a place in Hood River, so you may have to supply your own beer. Don L. Moved from the Keys to Seattle last year, so the number of sailors in the Keys and Bahia Honda , specifically, has taken a hit.

How has the wind been down there? I heard you can't sail on the Gulf side just below Bahia Honda at "The PIT". Is that closed?

Where in Florida?
I'm looking to establish a rotating group of ocean windsurfers at the best ocean and kiteboard windsurfing site outside of Oregon. That's because the mile-long jetty blocks the beautiful Atlantic rollers that come up with the strong, prevailing Southwesterlies to create an area of calm water perfect for getting underway and pulling your board out of the water. Offshore sandbars provide additional protection as well as beautiful curlers for jumping.
The only essential element would be to pay a rent on a beach- or inlet-side house. Once we have enough committed people, anything else is possible, including prepared food, transportation to Jacksonville Airport, bicycles and other goodies I have in storage within driving distance of St. Augustine. All I lack is a big bundle of cash to make it all happen. This part of Florida is near to the hot spots of Jacksonville Beach where you can party with the Jags
Email me at Jagtig@aol.com for more.
Hoping to hear from you. John
