Hi all,
LOL... 22 years ago I learned how to windsurf on boards I rented from a recreational equipment rental outfit (MWR) at Homestead Airforce Base here in S. Florida. $10 would get you a board all day long. It was great... I rented boards at least couple dozen times over the next couple years. At first I knew nothing about windsurfing so I took the board out to a local lake and taught myself how to windsurf. Don't remember the name of the board but it was very long by today's standard with I believe a 6 square meter sail. The board had no problem supporting a, at that time 200lb 6'3" frame to pull the mast and sail up. Well that was 23 years and 65 lbs ago.
So here I am 41yrs old 6'3" 265lbs and wanting to get back into windsurfing.
I guess what I am looking for is a larger intermediate all around board that will support my weight while standing on it. No surf here in S. Florida and the wind I guess averages 5 to 10 knots so a larger sail would be in order.
Please recommend several boards and sails as well as reputable dealers. Would like new or new but last years model, maybe even used but in great shape would be okay. Hey I'm 40, I'm over the "got to have the best, the latest greatest". LOL...
Regards,
Tom
